Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start betting with bid__bot?

New players start off with 420 points. You don't have to do anything special to register - just start playing when bid__bot offers a bet with !bid yes/no. Point totals are not global - they are specific to individual streamers' channels.

How do I get more points?

You can gain points actively through winning bets, and passively through watching the stream at a rate of 10 points per 4 minutes.

How do the bets work?

bid__bot automatically offers bets roughly every 6 minutes during gameplay. Bets appear in Twitch Chat with instructions on how to enter. When a bet resolves, points are awarded to the winners.

How are points distributed to winners?

bid__bot uses a pool betting system exactly like Twitch Predictions -- winners of a bet have their buy-in returned and split the entry points of losing bettors based on the size of their entry fee.

What if a bet is resolved incorrectly?

Contact us via Discord (https://discord.gg/vYfG3trK7V) with the stream, time of error, and bet offered. We will do our best to address the issue.

What if I don't have enough points to participate in a bet?

The only way to gain more points is by watching the stream and winning bets. You'll gain 10 points per 4 minutes watched.

What can I do with my points?

The more points you win, the higher you'll climb on the streamer's !leaderboard.

How do I know how many points I have?

Type !bid points and bid__bot will return your point total

How do I add bid__bot to my stream?

Simply download bid__bot and log in with your Twitch account. Toggle "Watch Gameplay" On and bid__bot will automatically detect when you are in game and begin offering bets.

Will bid__bot support more games in the future?

bid__bot currently supports automatic bets for League of Legends. We are actively developing support for new games. Join our Discord (https://discord.gg/vYfG3trK7V) to ask us what's next!

If I leave the stream after making a bet will I still get points if I win?

Yes, all bets will be honored after entry.

What if a bet becomes resolved while it's still open for entry?

The betting entry window closes as soon as the bet becomes resolved - any entries locked in before it closes will be honored and points will be distributed immediately.

Can I cancel a bet?

As a player, your bet cannot be cancelled after entering. As a streamer, if you wish to cancel a bet and return all entry fees, you or a mod can type "!bid cancel".

Why is bid__bot legal to use in my country when Twitch Predictions is not?

Points gained and awarded via bid__bot have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed or traded for any goods or services. Some countries do not allow Twitch Predictions because Channel Points can be redeemed for various benefits.

Where can I make suggestions for new bets I'd like to see?

Jump on over to our Discord (https://discord.gg/vYfG3trK7V) and let us know what you're thinking. We will do our best to add any bets you'd like to see on your stream.

What if a bet never resolves when it should have?

Congrats, you have discovered a bug! Type "!bid cancel" to cancel the bet and refund entry fees and please send us a log of your stream by hitting the "SEND" button in the bid__bot client.

What happens if only one person places a bid?

Because the "!bid leaderboard" is based on points WON and not passive points accumulated for watching, a user can still climb the leaderboard by winning back their own points if they are the only one to bid.
